When the Swiss Centre in London’s West End was closed the club chose to relocate to Number 1 Leicester Sq. The premises spread over three floors, with three separate bars, plus an entrance lobby and a cloakroom. They asked us to provide a single integrated solution that would run all the different functions and tills they required.
One of the key requirements was for a system that made it easy for staff to work very fast, and which was extremely reliable and robust—the club is one of the busiest in the country and they have proved our system enables transactions to be conducted in less time than traditional EPOS systems. Their wish list of features also included a high degree of customisation—they wanted the ability to run complicated promotions and discount schemes.
The system also controls the door entry point, and the cloakroom. Each screen is customised, so what you see on the bar till, the waitress stations, the cloakroom and the entrance is different. This means the person operating the cloakroom cannot accidentally order a drink, and the bar staff can’t interfere with the door entry functions. With traditional EPOS systems all screens would have to be identical, making life more complicated for everyone.
We’ve also created a very sophisticated stock control and reporting system. This allows them to separate the stock control, and break it down by floor, as well as giving them totals and data for the club as a whole. This makes it quicker and easier to maintain control and identify the source of problems. It also enables them to closely monitor the effect of any changes they make—if they alter the lighting, the music, the pricing or the POS displays, our system makes it very easy to see what happened on individual tills, from one minute to the next. This makes it a powerful tool for creating the best possible customer experience and, ultimately, for fine tuning the sales and profits.
They are delighted with the stability of our Linux platform and the fact that in the very rare instances where there is a problem it is quick and simple to fix, with all the data easily retrieved from the server.
